So the boys were out of school today and yesterday due to parent/teacher conferences. Yesterday was not a bad day, but today they were both rambunctious and would not listen. It didn’t help that I had a bad headache!
Caleb had a routine appointment with his ENT this afternoon just to check his ear tubes. We talked about the appointment prior to going and that all the doctor was going to do was look in his ears quickly and it would take a few minutes. He lets me look in his ears no problem, so I don’t understand why we have such difficulty when we see this doctor, but we do. I even told him he could take the iPad, thinking that if he had that to distract him we could make it through the appointment. No such luck!
Caleb absolutely refused to allow the doctor to look in his ears. So because of the doctor needing to look at the tubes and my seeing very dark brown wax when I clean out his ears, Caleb will now have to undergo general anesthesia for the doctor to look at his ears! UGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
This is all after I learned this morning that Caleb’s absolute neutrophils dropped again since we did his labs last week. I will need to check with the infectious disease doctor next week and see if she’s talked to hematology about them seeing Caleb again. Because the last we heard from them was that they wanted to see what his labs were for four weeks after he was switched from the previous antibiotic to the current antibiotic, which was not supposed to have a possible effect on his neutrophils. Well, we did as they said and tested two weeks apart and each week the numbers went down. We need answers!
So, like I said, WHAT. A. DAY!!!!!!!!!!
