Today was the boys’ last day of school for the 2014-15 school year. It’s hard to believe that I officially have an eighth grader and a kindergartener!!!!! It’s also hard to believe that we are completely finished with the ECC (Early Childhood Center) program through Maize. We started with them 10 years ago and seen them evolve from 2 special education classrooms to 9 classrooms of children with all abilities in our district. It has been a wonderful program and we are very grateful for the special education services that the kids have received.
Caleb had a great year. It amazes me how having the right team in place makes such a difference. The team at Maize South Middle School was absolutely amazing. They listened to me and we actually worked as a team for the best interest of Caleb and you can tell the difference it made in Caleb. I can’t thank his teacher and the administration enough for the great year that Caleb had! I am glad we have one more year before we have to transition to high school with all of these wonderful people!!!!
Steven has continued to come out of his shell and is talking more and more (and more)! God continues to amaze me at how he protected Steven during his traumatic birth and how he continues to thrive despite of his rough start in life. I still remember the doctor telling me that they could not tell me if he would ever walk or talk. It has taken a lot of hard work and sweat on Steven’s part with a lot of therapy and therapists and he has a long ways to go, but he is doing things that the doctors were not sure he would ever do! Only God knew and knows what Steven will ultimately accomplish! Jer. 29:11!
I pray that Steven continues to thrive as he begins kindergarten (EEEEKKKK!!!!) in August!!!!
