So here is finally my update for my self care. I meant to get this out yesterday; however, it was a crazy day!
Well, week 2 came to a close on Wednesday and I went to weigh in on Thursday. With this diet, I actually have not gone hungry, because with making sure I have to have, there is SO much food to eat.
We’ve been talking in our weekly meetings about how to prepare for Thanksgiving and how to stay “in the box” (or on the program) and not to go back into the poor choices that we’ve been working to change. It was quite shocking when they handed out a sheet that showed that a “typical” Thanksgiving menu consisted of approximately 7,600 calories. Right now I’m taking in approximately 1,500 calories a day. This last week, we were provided a sheet that showed us how many of our shakes that we could have in a week and not gain any week. For me at my current weight, I could have 100 shakes a week. There is NO way I could even come close to that, as the shakes that I have are 120 calories a piece.
My first week weight loss was 5.6 pounds. I asked on this blog’s Facebook page and my personal Facebook page people thought I lost more or less than the first week. The people that responded all said more. Unfortunately, I lost less than the first week. I still lost, but it was less than the first week. I had a loss of 2.9 pounds this week. I was more happy with the fact that I was back under the 300 pound threshold at 298.3 pounds total weight. That means I have had a total weight loss of 8.5 pounds in two weeks.
Now, this week because of Thanksgiving is on Thursday, I will be weighing in on Wednesday. So it’ll be interesting how that affects everything. Tony and I have also decided to stay “in the box” on Thanksgiving day. We are going to be home with our little family and so it will be easy for us. Plus, we’ve learned how to make pumpkin pie shakes! It’s yummy!!!!!! So that will be a nighttime shake.
I thought I would go ahead and share with you a picture of what one of our lunches looks like. This is my Chicken Enchiladas with Tomatillo Sauce, 2 Tbsp of light sour cream, and 2 Tbsp of salsa, with a cup of peas and carrots. And I was full when I was done eating.
Oh, I did get some physical activity in this week, as well. Tony and I spent about an hour and half at the zoo the Friday of this week walking around and then I rode our stationary bicycle for a while. I’m hoping to increase that this week.
So I am keeping on, keeping on. I really don’t like the slow and steady pace, but it’s what I’ve got. Thank you for all your support!

Good for you! I lost weight this week, almost at 80 pounds in a year. Some days will be hard but I am in it with you.
